Distracted Founders

Focus is Key

Building a successful product is a full-time and full-effort endeavor in a competitive field. Do one thing and do it right.

That is our principle.

A Cautionary Example

Drive.ai was co-founded by four individuals. While it is difficult to say definitively how many other ventures each of the founders may have been involved in while running Drive.ai, it is worth noting that all four have been involved in a number of other startups and projects throughout their careers.

Andrew Ng, for example, is a well-known figure in the AI community and has been involved in a number of startups and initiatives, including co-founding Google Brain, launching the online learning platform Coursera, and founding the AI education platform deeplearning.ai. Carol Reiley has also been involved in a number of AI and robotics ventures, including co-founding the robotics company Tinkerbelle Labs and serving as an advisor to the AI and robotics accelerator RoboGarage. Tim Wong and Sameep Tandon, meanwhile, have both been involved in a number of startups and entrepreneurial ventures in the technology and healthcare spaces.

While it is not uncommon for founders to be involved in multiple ventures or initiatives at the same time, it is worth noting that running a startup can be a full-time job that requires a significant amount of time, energy, and resources. In order to be successful, founders must often prioritize their time and focus on the most critical tasks and initiatives related to their startup. Ultimately, the success of a startup will depend on a variety of factors, including the strength of the founding team, the market opportunity, and the ability to execute on the company's vision and strategy.
